Gemini Technologies Policies and Statements

Modern Slavery Statement
Gemini Technologies complies fully with the Australian Commonwealth Modern Slavery Act 2018. We recognize the risks of modern slavery, including human trafficking, forced labor, debt bondage, deceptive recruiting, and other forms of exploitation as defined by International Labour Organisation (ILO) standards. Our commitment is to ensure that our operations and supply chains remain free from such practices.

We actively work to address these risks by partnering with suppliers who maintain transparent policies and processes. Gemini Technologies refrains from working with labor hire organizations and prioritizes partnerships with Australian companies that are ISO accredited or have a consolidated revenue above $100 million, which obligates them to report on modern slavery risks and take appropriate action.

When Australian ISO-accredited suppliers are unavailable, our Managing Director performs thorough due diligence to confirm that suppliers meet ethical standards. We do not engage in foreign transactions with unverified entities, and our workforce is exclusively composed of Australian citizens or permanent residents, ensuring compliance with all employment regulations.
Our modern slavery policy aligns with guidelines from Safetrac and Anti-Slavery Australia. The Managing Director reviews all supply chain relationships, assesses their integrity, and approves procurement activities.

Indigenous Procurement Statement
Gemini Technologies acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the original custodians of the land, particularly the Ngunnawal people, where our headquarters is based. We respect their cultural heritage and are mindful of the social and economic challenges Indigenous communities face.

Our administration and management teams prioritize Indigenous Australian suppliers in our procurement processes. By leveraging Supply Nation and similar directories, we actively seek to engage with Indigenous-owned businesses for our operational needs, provided their offerings meet our quality standards and environmental policies.

Benefits to the Australian Economy
Gemini Technologies is committed to contributing to the Australian economy and local communities. As an Australian private company, all revenue, taxes, and fees are directed towards supporting Australian government agencies, with no profits going to foreign entities or shareholders. Our workforce is composed of Australian residents, and our services are designed to benefit the local economy.
Our procurement policies prioritize Australian-produced goods and services. When local products are unavailable, we opt for Australian companies that contribute to the manufacturing or assembly process, further supporting local employment. Additionally, we contribute a portion of our profits from various engagements towards training and assistance for less fortunate Australians through community organizations.

Environmentally Sustainable Procurement
At Gemini Technologies, we are committed to environmental sustainability and strive to minimize our impact on the planet. We adhere to all applicable environmental laws and continuously seek ways to exceed regulatory requirements.
To reduce our environmental footprint, we limit paper use by adopting digital documentation processes. Only essential documents are printed, and all printed materials are double-sided or reused for note-taking, then recycled.

Our ICT infrastructure relies on cloud-based solutions to decrease energy usage and e-waste. Computer systems are designed for longevity, and we perform in-house upgrades to extend hardware life. For software solutions, we prioritize low-power platforms, like Linux, and ensure that functionally obsolete equipment is refurbished or donated to charitable causes.

Our office design supports a partially remote workforce, reducing commuting needs and associated environmental impacts. We encourage the use of public transport or bicycles, providing bike racks for commuting staff. Gemini Technologies partners with green energy suppliers and promotes sustainable practices among employees, embedding these policies in our quality and workplace health & safety guidelines.

Our environmental policy is reviewed annually by our General Manager, ensuring that our practices align with sustainability goals and are communicated effectively to our staff.
